Setting your Qashqai Rain Sensors Straight

Determining what might be causing poor functionality or none at all with any rain sensors can be a very frustrating experience. Customers of Qashqai rain-sensors in particular have reported a plethora of various reasoning behind abnormal functionality, or none at all.

It’s worth first taking into consideration the current settings of your Qashqai rain-settings and attempting to alter the level of sensitivity in favor of getting your wipers to work again. Have you attempted a genuine IPA cleaning of your windshield? Some build-up deposits on your windshield cannot be seen with the naked eye. Before resorting to professional assistance, try troubleshooting your windshield by ensuring you’re using mechanic or manufacturer approved window cleaners. Windshields and sensors can be so sensitive that even after a carwash sometimes a vehicles rain-sensors stop working due to soap or other cleaner residue left behind, although often unnoticed.

With regards to troubleshooting, you can try a form of “resetting” the sensor device by also toggling forward or backward one speed, and then returning it to the original, desired speed.

Lastly, and not quite surprisingly, customers have reported that above all else, the Auto setting seems to work best and most consistently.
