With very little actuation force needed and desirable feedback from players, the Mionix Castor is a desirable, high-performance gaming mouse. It is designed ergonomically, or for those whom are right-handed, and weighs hardly 94 grams (not counting the cord).
The Mionix relies on newer technology (a new 10000 DPI sensor), while still operating off of an IR LED optical (Avago ADNS 3310 Sensor) recognition feature for surface to computer communication or movement-relay. This is a nice acceleration-free gaming mouse with many customizable features.
With an optical mouse such as this, a light emitting diode (LED) is used to transfer movements or changes on a surface into on-screen gaming actions and experiences. LED and laser sensors are again fairly similar, the only difference being how they read information and changes on a surface, and which surface types they work best on—also, their scrolling-technology is based on laser or optical build, one perhaps being more desirable than the other dependent upon the type of game(s) you’re playing.
